Local photographers responding to pressing environmental concerns; the complex relationship humanity has with the natural world.

This broad brief encompasses all manner of responses - be it an observation of inspired urban or rural beauty – a critique / documentary inquiry, or abstract constructs, mixed-media, (photography based).

We are looking for diverse and nuanced work, and hope to cover subjects such as industry, biodiversity, water, natural resources, consumption, production and waste.


Send 5 – 10 low resolution images – only one image will be accepted for the show.

Open to South African residents.

Your entry must be your own original photograph – no part of the entry may originate from another photograph, image, painting or drawing. Digital manipulation is allowed providing that all the content within the image is the original work of the entrant.

1.2. By entering your work, you hereby agree to working within the following:

1.1. Entries must be submitted by email no later than the 18 MAY 2019.

1.2. P H Centre will take 40% commission on any work sold from the show and any subsequent sales that may transpire through your involvement with PH Centre.

1.3. Commissions on sales will be paid 2 Weeks after the show comes down.

1.4. The work, once on the show, may not be removed from the show before the show has ended – duration minimum 2 months

1.5. The call is open to EVERYONE, professional and amateur photographers alike.

1.6. Entry is free of charge.

1.7. Each photographer retains copyright of his or her images, and proper credit lines will be attributed to each photographer when screened anywhere by PH Centre.

1.8. P H Centre reserves the right to post all entries across all their social media and web based platforms including other digital platforms.

1.9. PH Centre reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to exclude any photograph that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the photograph appears. You warrant, in respect of the photograph submitted by you, as follows:

2.0.1. You are the sole copyright owner and creator of the photographs.

2.0.2. To the best of your knowledge, the photographs do not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libellous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content.

2.0.3. To the best of your knowledge, the photographs do not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.

2.1.0. The photograph does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity, and your photograph does not include:

2.1.1 Trademarks owned by third parties.

2.1.2 Copyrighted materials owned by third parties.

2.1.3 Names, likenesses or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead.

3.0. You agree to fully indemnify PH Centre in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of your breaching any of the foregoing.

3.1. You confirm that each person depicted in the photograph has granted permission to be portrayed as shown—and has the right to grant that permission. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.

3.2. PH Centre recognizes you retain full ownership of the copyright in each photograph that you have submitted.

3.3. Any photograph used by PH Centre shall carry a credit line. Any failure to provide such credit line shall not be deemed to be a breach, as long as PH Centre uses its reasonable endeavours to rectify such failure within a reasonable period from the date of notice of such failure.

3.4. You acknowledge that PH Centre and its partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse.

3.5. You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of your name for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity for PH Centre and the show without additional compensation.
